I don't no why all gears were working but it don't want to shift up now

Unfortunately, the Ford Taurus has one of the worst reputations for transmission problems.... sorry.. http://www.carcomplaints.com/Ford/Taurus/1999/transmission/

You're welcome, I have a friend who purchased one of these cars in the 90s....he said that around 60,000 miles or less the transmission was toast... He fixed it, sold the car and never looked back.. Another relative had a Mercury Mystique, similar car, same problem..... This is NOT good....
