problems with the cd player

can't get it to run

i dont know for sure but have been told factory gm raido,s are junk and the first thing to give trouble is cd player.

Factory GM radios are FAR better than Ford factory radios. You might run a cleaning disc in it. Otherwise, buy another head unit out of a junk yard, or an aftermarket one. Basic aftermarket unit will cost you about $110, free install, and about $40 worth of parts which you can avoid most of the cost by figuring out what parts you need and buying them from walmart, who sells them for 1/3-1/2 the price of BBY or CC.

Exactly, they're really not serviceable, just disposable. Get a new one and don't look back. :)
