I have a 1998 ford Contour SVT I think I need a new water pump as I see
unfreeze leaking on the driver side just under the motor. Also my windows are
fogging up. Does anyone know how long it will take to change the water pump
and any installation things I should look out for or hints any information would
be a huge help (mylesmanmyles@hotmail.com)
Thanks in advance Mike

Hey thanks for getting back to me so fast I really appreciate it. Is there a better way to determine if I have a water pump problem or a heater core problem. I need to figure this out so I know what part to go buy. Thanks again any help would be great
well like I said if the windoes are foging up the heater core is leaking,it is the onley thing that will cause this to happen, can you smell antifreze inside the car while running, another way to tell about the WP,take it to a garadge, have a pressure check done on it,if WP is leaking,it will push the antifreze out faster.

Thanks again for all the info I got the water pump installed. was not as bad of a job as I imagined. things seem to be running better now
The water pump is belt driven, on the lh (driver side) side of the engine. Ford made the mistake of using plastic impellers on the factory water pumps. A reman is $60 and installation is under an hour.
