How do I clean the fuel injectors on a 1998 ford explorer

you could add something to the fuel tank but with today's fuels, you really don't need to. There is a device that is a substitute fuel supply. You disable the vehicle's fuel pump, hook up the tool and run the engine with injector cleaner until it's gone. Really not a job for an amateur because of the potential fire hazard. Why do you think that you need to clean your injectors?
Save the money, Tracy is spot on, unless you have a specific problem where you suspect the injectors. Spend your money on non-ethanol fuel, you'll notice your explorer runs better.
I have a new fuel pump and filter andi have to use starter fluid ti start truck sometimes
some times at low speed 30/40 mph, i can feel a little skip,, i had diagnostics ran on it, they said spark plug, or spark plug wire,or number 3 fuel injector ,i put new wires and plugs, and coil problem is still there, if the car is parked for like a week, and ya' wanna drive some place until the motor warms up good it runs real rough and at this time the check engine light comes on, but most of the skip stops after it warms up,
i started using med grad fuel and it dose run better and millage is better, i used fuel stuff didn't help
i guess what i need to know is ,, where is number 3 fuel injector, i may as well check check it, i've went this far
Left hand side, all the way back, the one with the shortest spark plug wire. (passenger side)
what is a good fuel injector cleaner for a 98 ford explorer
If you look on the coil pack that the spark plug wires go to, it says the numbers of the cylinders on it. Follow the wire to the spark plug that says 3 next to it. I have the same truck,
My 99 explorer runs good at a idel but when u give it gas its bogs down i change fuel filter and it still does it if u pour gas in the air intake it raves up like new till the gas runs out then it starts doing the same thing
