If i am looking for a 1998 mustang gt, would it be better to look for a hard top or a soft top ?

i would personally pick a hardtop due to the fact that theres just less things that can break...u have a much higher chance of not getting rainwater leaking into ur car, and rag tops go bad, u gotta replace them, hail well mess it up hardcore....and the 98 gt's looked way meaner with a hard top
If you get a convertible they are alot of fun but once you have put the top down it wont seal perfectly ever again... I had a '96 convertible that if it was raining hard my left arm would be SOAKED after a few minutes.
both are fine, just look for a rust free body, as they are unibody construction and are prone to rust.
I've had several mustang convertibles. If they are used as a daily driver in nice weather they are a lot of fun but can also be high maintenance. Tops and associated parts arn't cheap to repair. Although the 1994 and up cars had much improved convertible durabiliy. Mine is only a weekend nice day type of car. IMO you'd probably be happier in the long rund with a hartop that has a sunroof.
depends on where you live also as I would never have one where I currently live because in winter we can get ice storms and the weight may tear the top
