I recently bought a 98 mustang with the 3.8 v6, it has 187,000 miles on it, as far as tune ups go, what would you suggest I do to prolong the life of my car?

Use high-mileage motor oil.

Should I use the recommended 5w30 or should I maybe use 10w30 or will 10w30 negatively effect it in any way
use the recommended weight, but look for the "high-mileage" label. It has conditioners to help keep seals pliant and even "rejuvenate" them as they get old and brittle, and additional detergents to reduce sludge, along with other additives for additional lubrication. It costs a couple bucks more per quart.
