Question type: Maintenance & Repair

If you start the vehicle and let it idle for about 2 minutes a beeping noise like a warning sound starts coming from the dash, nothing comes up as a code and no warning lights are on. It will stop for awhile when driving and then come back again. What causes this?

not sure if this could be the same issue, but on my 01 Ranger that was happening but it was because the sensor on the door was broken so the door ajar alarm would go off randomly while driving.

In case this is still a problem for people. I found the answer. Today i pulled apart my dash to replace all of the bulbs that had burned out throughout the past several years lol. We all know how bad it sucks to do this... Anyway, in addition to my bulbs being out to light my panel, I had noticed that my Air Bag light in the dash was blinking and staying on for about the past 6 months. My fix, was to remove the bulb while I am installing new panel bulbs, right? Wrong By removing the bulb (the visual alarm), I started the irritating audible alarm. Replace your burned out Air Bag Light, then to keep the Air Bag Light from blinking and staying on, replace the Passenger Side Air Bag Light. See it's that light burning out that causes your dash light to blink and stay on. Good luck, the passenger side light is a soldered light. Not bad to do, but you need the bulb, solder gun and know how, but it's easy enough that you don't need a lot of experience. Not sure if this helps but i had the same problem with my 99 mazda b4000. I found an easy fix by just pulling the coffee holder out and you will see a red clip plugged in there. I unplugged it and it worked,,im quite sure this works for the older rangers as well. Good luck
