72 Volkswagen Super Beetle

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Someone told me we needed to replace the spark
plugs in my car because it was chugging, losing
power and backfiring. We never did because we
weren't sure if it was the fuel pump or the spark
plugs. Now the car won't even start. Every once in
awhile we can get it to start though and it runs fine.
What is wrong with it?

Take the first advice and change the plugs. If you are cheap at least take one out and look at it. Your car is probably due for a full tuneup. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points etc.
