Chevy Cobalt head

Asked by Jill Feb 14, 2019 at 05:36 PM about the 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt

Question type: General

We got a used head from a local auto wrecking for our 09 chevy cobalt. It is a
2.2L and they sold us a head from a chevy Malibu 2.4. Everything lined up and
went perfect until we got to the exhaust manifold. That is when we made the
discovery of it being wrong! Is there anyway to correct this without removing the
head and starting all over?

Talk to a muffler shop. If the Malibu exhaust manifold will fit in the car they may be able to modify the exhaust system to make it all fit.

Malibu has a catalytic on the manifold. The cobalts don’t. Let us know what you did
