it depends on how deep your pockets are, because a turbo is not so cheep and also needs a lot knowledge becuase I know kids who turbo their civic or whatever and 2 days later their turbo cracks and screws up their engine, but its good to have two cars, one turbo and one just with normal bolt on's without forced induction, because its hard as hell to have a daily driver that is turbo charged and as you probably know turbos where out, and you will spend big bucks on everything just to get it right, because a turbo is not just a muffler tip that you screw on and there you go, you have to have everything just right for it to be right, so just saying that its not an easy task, but again I dont know if you also have another car that you use as a daily driver, so think about it and if your willing to go through the hustle then at the end its gonna be bad ass, haha that awsome turbo spool is gonna be great with the rx! anyway good luck with it :)
Plenty of people own turbo daily drivers, its not hard at all. Rotary's have low torque without a turbo so getting one is probably a good idea. Getting a turbo on an Rx-8 is relatively easy cuz its such a popular car to turbocharge that there are plenty of kits for it that come with everything from the intercooler to the fittings and clamps. Just make sure that either they come with a piggyback or you have to get one yourself (I'm assuming that you're not as hardcore as to get a programmable ECU which is useless for most people). If you're gonna raise the boost a lot you might have to lower your compression and get forged components, else you'll probably be fine. And you might have to get a better oil pump. After praying that the intercooler fits and that you dont have to modify your bodykit, its mostly tuning from then on. Of course this is all assuming that you bought a reliable kit in the first place. Talk to a mechanic, a rotary specialist preferably and see if they know a good kit they can order for you.
