2009 Pontiac G6 trans slip in reverse

Asked by Nckrgs57 Dec 30, 2020 at 07:22 PM about the 2009 Pontiac G6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My daughter has a 2009 Pontiac G6. Recently
the transmission has been slipping going into
reverse. All other gears are good though. I
have checked fluid. I have thought about
changing the filter in the pan. However, I do
know that sometimes (not always) it can
create new issues. I know how to rebuild
Transmissions but I'm  not the best with
troubleshooting. Any help would be
appreciated.

if you know tranny then you might know vacuum diaphragm, or maybe even shift solenoid is the culprit with this story. That's where I'd look. Secondly, just my opinion, I'd stay totally away from anything GM. The Fiero is a timebomb just WAITING to catch fire. A TON of car fires on that make /model.
