From what I hear the PDK shifter is not as ground breaking as folks claim.
It is good as is name
like an irish hedgehog....the pricks are on the inside!!!!!
god hasn't the 911 changed over the years if you belive the Porsche hype at least the rival companies employ designers to make each revision a different shape
I've been huge fan of the car for years. The current car is the most beautiful yet!!!
Look! It's not a Turbo, and it's not yellow, but is the same car as in New Moon!!
well it looks pretty much the same as the old one.however the (pdk) a double-clutch with 3 different shift-modes -- Normal, Sport and Sport, the 3.8-liter power unit which has seen output boosted to 385bhp - an additional 30bhp. i'm not a fan of the (pdk) mainly because the flappy paddle gear-box in the manual or semi automatic is in the wrong place it should be behind the steering wheel not on it imagine how awkward it would be changing gears with your thumbs while both your are on the the steering wheel, and of course they would be because it's a flappy crappy gear-box,not to mention the hideous steering wheel what in the world was wrong with the old one?anyway.those were all my complaints ,but i must admit that it does look slightly better on the outside(exception to those tedious rear light). it's looks more vicious more in your in face face than porsche's previous iterations .it has a higher top speed, more toys and all of these amazingly fantastic new qualities come at a price... you might've imagined a steep one...i don't think your were quite ready for this one here we go it costs... 100k an addtional 10k ... the end
The best gearbox u will ever know about is in this babe
Ked af at sige det....meeeen det er en top fed bil!
I love Porsche, always have, but I think it would be in the best interest of Porsche to slowly let the 911 die. It is iconic and one heck of a sports car but they can do better and the Cayman proved it. Think about it, take a Cayman S and a 911 (comprable engine displacements but still the 911 with .2 liters up) and had a race on a track. If the driver in the Cayman is better than the 911's, it will probably win or make it really close. Porsche should use its masterful engineering to go with mid-engined sports cars only. This will probably be better for Porsche in the long run, namely in the racing circuits.
i think they are onto a good thing with the PDK in the new 911, i stay why let it die if its still a good car? 0.8 of a second quicker 0-100kmph than the m3 with a double clutch gearbox also. and the beamer has a fair bit more power. and good fuel economy to boot. i love it.
now this is what u call a sports car.. the 911 is will be FOREVER my FAVEY car.. i mean this is a true machine, really..
as the performance of the legendary 911 consistenly improves and the engineering gets cleverer, theres just one problem, from 1963 to 2009, the design and overall apperance hasnt at all changed, its tried and true and its the only car that doesnt have to change its look to stay a fan favourite.
I own one 911 Carrera S (997) 2006 , and let me tell you that it is the best car for the price you pay in it's category.. Fast & Furious!!! the best of the best!!
Latest 997 GT3 is awsome having been driven in one. But for me it will always be the iconic 80's 911 turbo with the huge whale.
2004 911 Anniversary car with the Factory X51 package has every option anyone would want up to 2009 911 S. Porsche slowly took the 04 Anniversary upgrades and added them each year. A 911, 996 Turbo with the X50 package creates the same path. 02 to 07. The 07 car will offer better turbos.. any years between is parallel move with a plus one option from the X50 package. There is another reason Porsche does this with the 911. It has to do with RACE Classing.
