2002 Honda Civic Overheat

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2002 Honda Civic. it just hit 200,000 miles. I bought it from a someone
and they said they had just replaced the radiator and the thermostat. It drives
good it is nice and quiet. After about 30 minutes of driving, when stopped at a
red light it starts to run hot. Most say it is the radiator fans. Does any one have
a different opinion?

Do the fans work? In city driving you need the fans but if it is overheating on the highway you may have other problems.
Overheating at idle or slow speed operations is definitely an airflow problem. Make sure the radiator cooling fans are working and make sure the front of the air conditioning condenser is not plugged up with dirt or other debris. Hope that helps! Jim
Ohkay! Thank y’all! And yes it is only in the city it does this. So I believe it’s a bad connection with fan. Easy fix!
You're welcome. Glad to help! Hope that fixes it!! Jim
