Dead battery

I was thinking that was the original battery and eight years of service is very good. It was near the end and warm weather and engine heat often does them in when they get that old. It may appear the battery is draining and this case the "drain" would be "internal" to the battery. The cells load up with crud and short out internally...a slow drain. So there's probably nothing wrong with the car. Just get a new battery. They are usually fully charged and your car's alternator will take it from there. I believe you will be good to go.

Awesome. Yeah, I knew I should get a new battery as I didn't realize it was the original. I'm hoping that's the only issue. Again, thank you!

Follow up: I did get a new battery Thursday and it works as it should. I have encountered a new, minor problem that I hope is something I'm overlooking. I realize that everything (clock, radio) has to be reset but the windows will no longer power all the way up when I hold the button for an extended period. Once your finger is off the button, the window stops moving. I know nothing about cars. Is the window (all 4) on the last legs? Seems odd they'd all go at once. The rear windows are only designed to go halfway down anyway. Everything else seems to be working properly. (So far, so good!)

Once you place the new battery in, you have to reset the windows immediately while the car is running the first 4 minutes with the new battery. unhook the battery and try again. Once you start the car push down on the first window until it is ALL the way down then bring the window back ALL the way up again. do this to each window. Good Luck:0
