Asked by Melissa A. Oct 17, 2017 at 03:30 PM about the 2000 Honda Accord

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2000 Honda Accord
Just got it back from the mechanic two weeks ago where it got a new battery,
and tune up.
Drove to the store in the Honda came out 10 mins. later, unlocked doors
remotely, went to start car and nothing. Tried to jump the brand new battery
and no change car wont start but dome light works and windows roll up and
down with full power, dash lights come on randomly and now the remote
alarm access is also not working?? Ended up having to get it towed home
where it still will not start. Please if anybody can help with any knowledge
into this issue it would be much appreciated!

Can you check if the security / anti-theft light is blinking? It seems like you have power, so battery not an issue. If you lost encoding to the key you may need car reprogrammed.

The security light is also not working. It did come on kind of randomly like how the dash lights came on, but does not stay on.

Lissie recheck your battery connections, one may have come loose leaving you with intermittent power. Battery cables should be tight, the cables should not be stretched, the battery should be secure and not able to slide or move around.
