3 grand is not a lot to pay for a used car- but it is a lot of money to me, so I sympathize- lemon laws only apply to new cars when purchased from a dealer- when you buy a used car, you have to be careful and have it checked out by a mechanic, your boyfriend, whatever, because if you make a mistake, you are stuck with it- sorry- your car is technically not a lemon but a used up piece of junk- be more careful next time-
