Lock

Asked by Cheryl Feb 09, 2017 at 09:11 AM about the 2009 Chrysler Town & Country

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Frequently my drivers side door won't unlock or
lock when I use the remote. Works with the key.

Brand new remote, and the other doors unlock, so that is probably not the issue. Seems to happen most often in extreme weather, very hot or cold days. Can hear the click inside the door. Are there any parts that might need to be greased?

Yes there are parts inside the door that can hamper the ease of movement of the door latch and locking system. You would have to take the door panel off to be able to lube everything.

Will give that a try. Lock wants to pop up, but appears to be stuck. Hope this helps! Thanks!

When in there get a good lubrication penetrating spray and work the door locks as you are lubing up moving parts.
