Right rear doo

Asked by GuruH92H4 Jun 30, 2019 at 10:29 AM about the 2009 Ford F-150

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2009 F150, crew cab— right rear door won’t close, or if I get it closed, have a hard time opening.
My other 3 doors are also giving me a hard time closing. I play around with the door lock button
and it seems to close. Can this be caused by 1 door lock actuator? Or do I have to replace all of
them?

What type of strikers are on the door posts which hold the door closed. If you have the round stud type (about 1/2 inch in diameter) there should be a plastic collar around each. These wear out and eventually fall off. If it is metal to metal (lock inside door and striker) replace the striker. Mark the position of the striker before taking it off. Else you will have to go through trial and error to get the door to close properly.
