What is wrong with my Honda Accord?

Asked by Alley Jul 05, 2020 at 10:35 AM about the 1997 Honda Accord

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving down the highway and all of a sudden
the check engine light pops on then the oil light
then the battery light. One after the other.  The car
didn't shut off but would no longer accelerate so I
pulled over and cut it off. I tried to crank it back
and it sounded like it wanted to turn over but
wouldn't.  I had it towed home and now when you
try to crank it, it makes a screeching noise. Help,
what could it be???

Did u have the a/c on? If so, check the a/c compressor. Also check the alternator, the screeching sound u hear is the crank shaft pulley turning on the belt to the alternator and A/c (blue arrow in diagram) cause either the a/c compressor or the alternator seized. It could b the power steering pump, but I dont think so.
