bummer to say, but you can get that many bad ones. could be a wiring problem too, but the alternator is easy to test yourself with a cheapy multimeter. Set it to volts D/C. hook it up to the battery with the engine running. red lead to pos, black to neg. you should have 13.5-14.5 volts or so.
Also check battery connections. They must be clean and tight for battery to accept the charge. Also check the negative battery connections on the frame and motor
What test did you do to decide to spend that much money on a new battery and alternator? If that didn't take care of it then it could be a control module.
I got this somewhere and this might help everyone understand it better. I have the same experience. I had my battery and alternator replaced but my volt meter reading stays at 12.5V. "When a battery is near fully charged the alternator will cease to put out sufficient voltage to charge the battery and the reading you will get from the battery probing method will simply be the voltage coming from the battery itself."
I got the info at today I found out website. Here's the link http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2010/01/how-to-test-a- car-alternator/
It could be your alternator wire harness
