honestly stick with an import, civics, im a mechanic by trade and i also own a civic and have 220 000km on it and no major prolems ever, all around there a nice car to drive and not $$$$ to fix, and if you treat them with care they dont fall apart

hondas are amazing, they last forever seriously, jsut take care of it, accords are nice, good power if its the v6 model
AJ..a Honda Accord would be an excellent choice in a car for you. They hold their value extremely well; they are reliable to the point of being nearly bulletproof and they are relatively simple to maintain. The biggest items on any Honda is oil changes (as HONDA recommends;) not the guy at the quick lube. He is just interested in repeat business wether it's needed or not! The other component is change the timing belts as recommended by Honda. You will change normal wear items occasionally like belts, brake pads, batteries etc but you will rarely change any major components or face catastrophic repair issues. Upon selecting your Honda, read the owners manual and be your own maintenance GURU. Don't rely on anyone but yourself to insure the maintenance is attended to. The car will give you a lot of service if you do!
Almost forgot, be cautious of the advise given on these forums. It isn't always reliable or the BEST information available. Anytime some one give you advise about a car, click their profile and research them and what they drive. They may be blowing smoke up your backside and actually give advise they "heard" from someplace.
Amen. Mr Saunders has it down. ::thumbs up:: Accords are great first cars. I used to have a Legend though. Similar enough.
Thanks David..I greatly admire and respect the info that you've posted as well.
