We will not know until the code is read. View the following link for a youtube vid on how to retrieve code(s): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bpwfiCxw54
OBD I engine code list for Honda Civic:
Cool but any reason in particular as to why the light turns off the second I turn my car off
Because it's probably a "soft code". The check engine light will turn on when a particular sensor goes out of range. When the sensor is reset or back in range (via ignition off then on), the light will be out until the sensor goes back out of range.
Cool man right on !!!one last question where is the connection for the reader located in my car ?? I tried looking under the driver side which is where most cars have it but I couldn't find it ??
It is on the passenger side.
Now I have another question .. I took my car to Napa to get the check engine light checked out but they don't have the connection .. Any idea where I could take it ?? Auto Zone ?? orileys??
Refer back to my first post. The Youtube vid that I posted will give you the procedure for retrieving codes. The OBD I protocol allows you to jump out the two pins on the connector and view the CEL for a specific number of flashes to retrieve the code(s).
