where is the fuel reset switch

Asked by gizzel Mar 29, 2007 at 01:33 PM about the 1997 Ford Explorer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1997 ford explorer and I need to reset the fuel switch.  The diagram in the ford book is a little hard to figure out where it is located.  The switch needs to be reset after an accident of somesort, or a jolt from a curb, etc.  It is a safety fuel switch.

I've been told its on the passenger side down near the kick panel (where the passengers feet would be.) You would need to peel back the carpet to expose the switch. I have never done it so I can't tell you exactly where it will be.
