What is the weird knocking sound from my engine.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

No.. it's not a rod.  I only hear it in first and second gear. It gets louder as i accelerate.  After I shift into third it stops.  A friend told me it was my crank-shaft bearings, but I need a second opinion.
