My new work van has an Aux in socket but no Aux button on the radio.

Question type: General

My new work van (08 Fiesta diesel) has an Aux in socket but no Aux button on the radio (1500 RDS).
Is there a way to use this socket or is it just there to tease me?

push some thing like how how to change it to a CD or FM or am if doesn't work message me back.

perhaps the software needs to see a signal there, then can recognise the device...we are asking the thing to select something to which isn't present. Many times the software will select the device for you, hopefully will tell you what it's chosing on the display. there's gotta be a 'mode' or 'select' button on there somewhere.

Thanks guys, I've tried both suggestions with no joy. The player is the bog standard ford audio unit 1500 RDS, i think the socket might just not be connected to anything as the instructions on its use in the manual relate to higher spec ford headunits, this one doesn't even have tape player, it's just a radio.

your radio might've been reset by a battery change or something like that. you'll need to have it coded by a dealer. or if that would be too expensive buy an fm transmitter. i have a rds 1500 in a transit connect without any aux input so i use an fm transmitter.. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005EPXZFS/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

my new Honda fit 2013 has aux opt and I was able to turn it on which I now have the opt to select on the radio however I am unable to locate the port? is it possible that it can be wireless?
