it all depends on ur wallet size... probably the best you will find is a K20A4 with like 220rwhp, but u can go with a B18 serious i love the B18C1 with a passion in a civic. if you have quite a bit of money and know how to work on honda's really well u can do a RWD conversion throw a F20 in it out of a S2000 and the drivetrain but thats really difficult ive seen it done only a few times. you just need to talk around u can keep ur D16 block and throw on a D15 head that has Vtec on it or a DOHC make it a frankenstein motor. theres alot of combo's just look on the internet.
get he LS engine from the integera. slap a vtec head on it. and make it ls v-tec. simple route. yet little extra parts are required. here's a link some cool instalation pics. and info.. http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/tech/0411scc_ls_vtech_engine/index.html ~Earnie~
how much u willin to spend. b16,h22,b18 c-r aka type r motor, or k2oa2. thats the only k series u want nothing else. theirs other routs like ls vtec. or a b17= b16 bottom end + b18 top end. or b2o vtec b2o bottom end wit a vtec head. just gotta find which one suits ur price range.
