Is it normal for the AT light to come on and off

Asked by Kim Dec 09, 2020 at 09:47 PM about the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Question type: General

My AT light recently flashed on and with it a jerky
feeling. I took it in to have it looked at, came back
saying a software updated was needed. Less than
a week later the same thing happened again. Was
told nothing could be done until the light came on
and stayed on. The last time I drove my car the light
flashed on 4 times in about 25 mins, felt like a gear
slipped. Is this normal?

It is not normal. Find another shop to help you. A flashing AT light means there is a problem and a trouble code will stored in the system. A slipping transmission is not good.
