Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car has an EMP 310 radio cd player in it, WMA3.  I cannot get the cd player to
work, radio is fine.

When I put a CD in it starts off saying reading, then goes to error 5 disc problem.

Can anyone explain to me what to do???

You're still using CD's!? All kidding aside, try multiple discs in the player, if it keeps giving you this error (if they still make them) see if you can find a CD lens cleaning kit. If often comes in the form of a disc with a small microfiber brush on it that cleans the lens. If this doesn't work it could very well be an alignment issue with the lens or a bad lens all together which would require you to have the unit serviced.
