What would you do if you were me?
March 8th riding in the passenger seat with my
friend, that owns a 2010 Chevy Impala 4 door.
Driving in the mountains right after a storm. Little
snow on the road, very cold weather. Before
leaving town noticed that the low tire light came
on. We stopped at a gas station, filled the tires with
air, the light went off continued on our trip.
Travelled approximately 40 miles up the mountains
noticing there was a surging noise and I thought
the car was jerking. The driver inform me that it
must be the front end drive clicking in. We were
traveling upnhill about 30 miles an hour. The driver
notice the light came on again and we were going
to stop at the next town to check it out. We leveled
off and prepared to start going down the mountain
when hearing the surging noise again. Then all of a
sudden everything locked up the steering wheel
didn't move, we started to veer to the left like we
hit black ice. Before we went over the side of the
mountain, she tried to tap the breaks nothing. The
only thing that saved our lives were 2 huge pine
trees that we ran into. If we would of been 5 feet
either way we would have went off a hundred foot
drop. The airbags did not deploy. The front
seatbelts did not lock. The back ones did. I hit my
face on her dash She hit her head into the
windshield. This happened a day and a half ago.
The key you cannot pull it out of the ignition. We hit
these trees, that saved our life, so hard the back
seats flew out. I think I have a broken hand a
broken rib and multiple bruises it's hard to breathe
and I think she's in the same condition. So, I went
on the national recall web site and it says 0
unrepaired recalls for this vehicle. Does that mean
that the repairs were made? There's were 4
recalls. After reading all the above comments that
all these people have made about their Impalas, it
sounds like Chevrolet has yet to fix the problem.
Why are these vehicles allowed to be sold? Why
hasn't Chevy made this problem right? I think I
need to see a lawyer.
