have a problem with my 1997 ford ranger it wouldn't crank over i changed my ignition switch and it cranks over now but it wont start WHAT DO I DO?

the ignition switch went out yesterday and would not crank so i jumped it from the starter solinoid. i installed the new ignition switch pushed it in as far as it would go and bolted it back into place and all it wants to do is crank over now and not start

no my solenoid is on the driver side fender, replaced the solenoid, just replaced fuses. didnt pay attention to sound when first turning on
