im assuming that the car will actually start?? if thats the case the light is probably burnt out. if the car is not starting then you probably are not getting power to the ecm

Is it supposed to? The icons usually come on when the key is the position just prior to engaging the starter motor to crank up the car. There is also a self test the car does depending on manufacturers during the start sequence. Check the owner's manual for information as to how these things are supposed to work. IF not satisfied why not give a call to a Hyundai dealer for specific information? I am sure they can help either with information or a repair estimate.

I have this exact car, is it the only light that doesn't come one when turning the key? My bulb was broken, and unfortunately sometimes mechanics are sketchy and mine was delibrately broken to go off after they put a new transmission in.
