Car engine won't crank and start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had an accident years ago with the 2010 A4 2.0Tdi (B8) on my Right hand
fender some one wire was totally ripped off by the tire but the car was okay,
repaired it and still drove the car for a couple of years until one day I found
that it cranks but won't start. I took it to a mechanic who discovered a worn
out crank sensor and a blown off 15v fuse in the boot. Replaced the crank
sensor but not the the single missing wire that hanging out still because he
doesn't know where it goes. So I am stuck with a car that won't even crank
and start now. He suspected the ECU problem which I changed with the
same code ECU but nothing happened. The engine comes on with the
cluster but no click when I start the engine. Please help anyone.

Yep you need an Audi pro. Don't be surprised if it cost a bundle to fix because that is just the way they are.

The correct way to fix this is to replace the whole wiring harness. If the Audi Dealer doesn't want to work on it, because it's 14 years old, try an independent shop that specializes in imports. A run of the mill shop will have absolutely no idea what they're looking at! My Nephew learned that lesson the hard way with his BMW! Jim
