I got a new battery but taped to the side of it is a vent tube and plug, what do I

This is a sealed maintenance free battery but any acid drips or vapor have to be vented to the ground. The instructions should be saying to plug the tubing into the tip that attaches to the top of the battery. Then run the tubing straight down to the ground so any acid does not damage the car's metal or wiring. Zip tie the tubing so it stays put.

Make sure the battery is labeled 51R. They may have sold you the wrong battery. My info shows a battery with two removable caps on top. Some maintenance free ones have no caps. None have the tubing you describe. Call your parts guy. Something is not right.
