Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2010 jetta 2.5. I first got the car and it needed some work so I replaced the whole dash including steering
wheel and ignition at first it started and then died right away, my first thought was that it was a sucurity issue so I
toke it to the dealer to check it out when I got it back thecar was dead it didn't even start for a little bit.

Please help

I had a similar problem with my 2000 cabrio (same system). My vale key would start and run but the regular key would run 3sec and die. The antitheft system was killing the engine after a short delay. The dealer had to reprogram the key to fix the problem. Anothter fix that I saw on youtube is to pull the alarm module located behind the left knee panel ( below and left of the steering column ) and remove wires 5 and 6 from the 6 wire connector and add a jumper from 5 to 6. I didn't try the second fix and don't know how that would affect the alarm or other automatic features.
