2010 Nissan Sentra SR remote key?

Asked by brookmanrandi Sep 24, 2013 at 04:56 PM about the 2010 Nissan Sentra

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2010 Nissan Sentra SR and my key
remote isn't programmed to the car. Is
there any way I can start my car with the
actual key? There is a knob like thing in the
ignition that I turn when the remote is near
it to start it, but can I take that out to insert
the actual key?

If it has an I-key the metal key might not have a chip. If the key goes in the ignition it should work to start car. If it's push button you may have to get dealer to program key.
