2002 Hyundai Elantra won't start after filling with gas unless I rev the engine
A used 2002 Hyundai Elantra that I picked up will immediately stall out after
I try to turn it on after filling it with gas. If I hold down the accelerator for a
bit, then it is fine. It is like it has to build up pressure somewhere. I am not
topping off the gas. After a bit of internet searching it sounds like this could
be the purge valve, so I got one. Is there a way to test it before and after
replacing without adding gas? I tried removing the gas cap and pushed in
the "flapper" but it still started up just fine. Anyone know of a way? (If it
matters, I work with computers and know nothing about cars.)
Thanks!
