why is my 02 Hyundai elantra shutting down on me?

Question type: General

Shuts off when driving,let sit and it will start back up, chug
then shut off ,start after 30-40 minutes,same process! Tried
crank sensor, still does it. Help!!!!!

Almost sounds like the fuel pump. As it gets hot it may start to loose it ability to make adequate fuel pressure. Then when it cools down it then can make enough pressure to operate the engine. Then when it gets hot again. The cycle repeats

Try fuel pump for car shutting off and not wanting to crank. Just had to replace mine for that reason

Did you get a diagnostic done? Autozone and advanced autondo for free. My injector went on mine
