This is a common problem with these vehicles, and it is most often caused by overfilling, or basically when you just keep clicking the pump to "Top Off" the tank or round out the amount or gallons. The problem lies in the purge system & is usually a bad valve which is located in a shroud and it is a plastic black box. It is located under the vehicle usually along the drive shaft area, but above the drive shaft bolted to the underside of the floor boards.
