car would not shut off even after key was taken out. Was told to change ignition lock cylinder, did that now car wont turn over, have all power no crank

Sounds like the rod that runs down to the ignition switch is out of alignment, or it may be right at the ignition switch. That rod hooks up to the lock cylinder system also and would have needed to be checked out on that end of it also.

take your automobile down to your local shop and the technician should be able to diagnose the problem with the malfunctioning ignition switch unit.

Follow Rowefasts instructions first. Sounds like something was left disconnected or not properly hooked up when cylinder was changed. If all else fails you will have to resort to a mechanic.
