Nothing happens when I push down on the gas pedal.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan. Last night, my battery died. I received a jump from
another car and my engine was able to start. When I put the car into drive and stepped on
the gas pedal, however, nothing happened. The car did not move. I placed the car in park
and stepped on the gas pedal and there was no engine rev. In addition, there were
multiple lights showing up on my dashboard: 1. ESP/TCS Indicator Light 2. Malfunction
Indicator Light 3. Electronic Throttle Control Light 4. ESP/BAS Indicator Light. We tried
shutting the car off and restarting and still nothing. The car does attempt to move forward
when in drive without stepping on the gas. Any ideas on what this may be?

You have the answer in your question. The ETC needs to to be replaced first. Without it the gas pedal won't work.
Mark is absolutely right, but there are multiple issues. ETC Electronic Throttle Control, self-explanatory, no ETC no go. But ESP/TCS Electronic Stability Control/ Traction Control System. BAS-Brake Assist System I wonder if they are on the same fuse...? You have owners manual?

I did download the manual. In the fuse diagram there is one that states this: "Antilock Brakes, Stability Control System, Stop Lamp Switch, Fuel Pump Rly Hi Control" and two state this: "Antilock Brakes Pump/Stability Control System" Should I try replacing these fuses first to see if that helps or am I going to need to take it to a dealer?
have you looked under the hood and seen if the engine will rev if you pull on the throttle arm and to see if you throttle cable is just off of the throttle body
or the ETC is unpluged from the pedal or throttle body
Yep ... cable must have been knocked off when you were under there with the jumpers
I have a 1994 dodge caravan with a new timing belt spark and fuel it just turns over but wont start not sure if the distributor side with cM is off 180°
Hi! Dodge grand caravan -04 what is the problem if the car not comes on when you get gas not accelerate
Got same problem as Kimb35 with my 2010 Town and country, how can I reach kimb35 to know how he solved his issue?
Hi i have a 2010 grand caravan yesterday i took it to the store and came home everithing fine then 5 mins later went to started and nothing tirned out it had a loose battery cable so i tighted it but when i started the van now there is no acceleration an all replaced the trhottle body and accelerator pedal and still nothing anyone else know what else can i do?
Stupid websites ever they let you post your questions but whenever you fixed your car issues they don’t let you tell everyone what was the problem and how to fix it. They want you go to car dealership to fix it and you waste your money $$$$ for a simple problem.
So I kind of have the same problem as kimb35, except I don't get any lights that come on and my vehicle stopped accelerating while I was driving On the highway. It starts just fine but when I put it into gear and push on the gas all I get is the engine revving. My van doesn't even try to move when shifting into different gears. Anyone have an idea what caused this? The codes I was getting the day I broke down but BEFORE it stopped accelerating are: P0300- misfiring cylinder, P2308- ignition coil designated "c" is not receiving the proper voltage, P0032- HO2S heater control circuit high (Bank 1 Sensor 1), P0562- System Voltage Low. Today while looking at the spark plugs and ignition coil I did realize that the ignition coil is cracked. Could this be what caused it to stop accelerating?? The weird thing about all of it is I do NOT have a check engine light on. Someone please help!!!
