U car Connect in Eden Prairie sold us a Jeep Wrangler and 1000 miles later the engine is blown. They advertise their cars on here. Has cargurus had any problems with them?
My daughter just bought a 2010 Jeep Wrangler from these guys and 500
miles later the caliper blew on the Jeep rendering the car un-driveable. We
gave it a front end brake job and replace the calipers. 500 miles after that
the engine started knocking and now it needs a new engine. This car was
$15,000. You can't convince me these guys didn't know about this knock in
the engine when they were getting it ready to sell. They don't stand behind
their cars (The owner, Tom,said too bad so sad) I wouldn't give this business
one red penny. I'm going to shout it from the roof tops until I'm ready to quit
I'm so mad!

I'm not sure what you're asking. It's pretty hard to hide an engine knock so severe it indicates a bad engine. I think you may just have bad luck.
I agree with you. I never should of bought a car from U Car Connect. There's no customer service here. Unfortunately, they are not legally liable but morally they are on the hook in my opinion. We just paid $15,000 for a Jeep with 120,000 miles on it. This should not be happening.
Did you run it out of oil? Like the first guy said you can't hide an engine knock.
No, It had oil. That was the very first thing that was checked. It also is not leaking anything. The bottom line here is, let's say it is bad luck...this dealer sold a car that needs at least $3500 dollars worth of work now. Help out. Help mitigate the cost of this repair.
Did you have a mechanic check it out before buying?
As far as "help" what do you want? Money or repair advice? If you want advice, provide more details on the engine damage.
No mechanic checked it out before buying. They had a list of repairs that they said were done to get the car ready for sale. I don't know if this is true considering the caliper blew a seal because the brakes were so bad. So 500 miles in I bought pads for the front and replace both calipers. $300 in parts. 500 miles later the engine starts knocking and the mechanic that U Car Connect uses checked it out this morning and it the consensus is more than likely a connecting rod from the crankshaft. We would like to see the car get repaired and have Tom from U Car Connect do the right thing and significantly help us make this repair.
