Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So, my engine light came on with the above error. It is the solenoid 6 circuit in
the solenoid id. it can be the open or short circuit, faulty mds 6 solenoid, ECM
fault, or air in the gas tank and it came on right after I got gas.

I am taking the family to Yellowstone this weekend. Should I get it fixed before
we leave or will it be ok till I get home Sunday evening. We live 6 hours from
the park.

That is coil-on- plug fault on #6 coil. I really hate to dump cold water on you but personally I would not leave on a road-trip with this fault http://engine-codes.com/qa/12232/p3441-dodge

what do you think the cost and timing would be to fix it?

A set of 8 coils for the 4.7L V8 is about $180, a single coil is $30. Book time to replace one coil is 1 hour. So that is about $80 in labor -- But not knowing what engine you have, could also be 3.7L V6 if you have regular cab. Ram used the bigger engines in the 4-door cab and all are coil-on-plug But those numbers are a guide http://www.napaautocare.com/estimator.aspx#
