WHY DOES MY CAR SQUEAL WHEN i AM BACKING UP?

as I am backing out of a parking space and cutting the steering wheel tight it squeals terrible, Doesn't do this with normal driving. Sounds like something needs grease bad.  I can't afford a major repair job at this time. Wondering is there is something I can do?
