Check Engine Light Code P0011 Intake Cam Position Timing Over Advanced - Bank 1 Description: How does a P0011 code trigger the check engine light? This code will trigger the check engine light under the following condition: The comprehensive component monitor, referred to as the CCM, monitors the Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) position for over-advanced cam timing. If the cam timing exceeds a maximum calibrated limit or is stuck in an advanced position, the check engine light will come on and set this trouble code. Possible Causes: Incorrect camshaft timing VCT solenoid valve stuck open or continuous oil flow to piston chamber Camshaft advance mechanism binding, or faulty VCT unit Diagnostic Help: This check engine light code is caused by a mechanical fault of the VCT unit or related components, so there is no need for electrical diagnosis. Possible symptoms may include rough idle, stall or hard start. Refer to manufacturer specific component tests for the VCT unit. My 2017 Cruze throws the same code. The Cam Position Solenoid has just been replaced for the 2nd time in about 6 weeks. I've had the car less than 5 months. I'm pretty sure it's a flaw in the design since my car is brand new. :(

I have a 2016 Chevy Cruze limited and the engine light came on with P0011 timing code. I had my Accuator Valve replaced twice and both cam shafts replaced. The timing belt was perfectly fine and timed (had that replace 2 yrs ago). Still kept throwing code. Had the oxygen sensor checked and it's fine. Still throwing code. What is going on? How do I correct this? I will NEVER buy another Chevy!
