Overheating

I have a 1996 Bmw, it's overheating ... Can
anyone help me?

Go through the usual suspects... thermostat, water pump, radiator, fan, etc... The link Tom posted is will actually apply to most BMWs! Great information there!

Once I start it up and let it run for a while it just start running hot and give a burnt smell.

I had it to the shop they took the thermostat out . But it still run hot very fast
