Opel corsa utility 1.7 dti switches off

Hi Sylester, Did you get a solution for your 1.7 dti ? I have the same problem, I don't know where to start.

Problem with the EDC [electronic diesel control]. You will find this item on the side of the block near the injector pump. Had the same issues and replaced the part but had to re code the vehicle to suite the controller.

My Corsa 1,7 dti utility, does not want to start. The head was replaced and after that the problem woth starting. It does start when we use a bit of quick start but then do not want to idle. The valve timing all is correct, we even checked the diesel injectors and that is also fine The car with spanner ligt burns all the time What could be the problem

My Corsa 1.7DTI Has broken down 3 times within the space of 2 months. It seems to be the Injector EDU which is bolted to the back of the engine block. It was a secondhand unit in there. I opened it and they have bridged some circuit with a wire. There were probably a few dry points with the soldering also. What happens is the engine cranks but will not start. You can tell when it's about to fail. The bakkie misfires and jerks for a bit then just cuts out completely. My Oil light came on and stays on. It will only go off when the engine starts and runs. The solution will probably be to get a new EDU ( Ouch ) or secondhand one with a guarantee period of some sort. Hope you manage to sort your issue out!

Hi GuruXTZQW, Get your Diesel EDU tested. It's at the back of the engine. Passenger side. Bolted onto Engine block. Take it to ECU Express in Kya Sands if you are near Joburg. I bought a secondhand one there for R3500. New one is about R8500. Plugged it in and it started one shot. They also do testing there. It'll take about a day. They can even repair your existing one. Good luck!

I have a Corsa 1.7 diesel. While drivingthe yellow spanner on dashboard appear and the engine loose power. After a kilometre or so the spanner will dissapear and the power will be bask. Can it be the turbo?

Robert mine does the same n showa the yellow spanner sometimes. 2 weeks ago it couldn't start until they figured out dt its the Injector Module faulty n by passed it.

Hi Guru if ur car doesn't pump diesel please check the switch next to the engine block at the back change it mine was doing the same thing

The loss of power is a faulty air flow meter. Quick way to test it is to just unplug it and see if it still does the same. It's located near the airfilter. Just follow the pipe to the plug and unplug it. Hope it helps

The best on these cars is that you fine opel 1.7dth it's a common rail doesn't use computer box, it mounts the same as 17 ydti
