CTS Coupe

In short, my opinion is NO. There are a few reasons I say this. The first is that the price is too high. Market value for a CTS coupe with those miles right now is around $8500. So you're overpaying by $1500 right off the top. Secondly, and this is the big one, Cadillac's are NOT reliable vehicles and parts are way overpriced. You may be able to afford the car, but being able to afford maintenance and parts to keep it on the road is a whole different story. Depending on how it was maintained, you could be looking at major repairs soon, i.e. engine replacement, transmission issues, and a lot more. I'd also imagine insurance at 19 on that car would be expensive as well. It sounds to me like it really is the car that you WANT, but not really the car that you NEED in your position with a new job. My advice would be to work for a bit, save up some money, and then start looking at other CTS coupes with a lot less mileage, especially since it's your dream car so to speak. You don't want to have your dream ruined by buying the wrong car and having it break down on you constantly. A lower mileage example may give you more enjoyment and definitely more peace of mind. This advice is coming from someone who spent over a decade of their life working for General Motors. People will tell you the engine is designed to last XXX,XXX number of miles, but ask those same people if they have the actual car, with those actual miles on it. Chances are, they don't. And if they do, they will tell you about all the parts they've had to replace and how expensive it was to repair. Not trying to rain on your parade, and this is just my thoughts. You could also buy the car and everything go absolutely great with no issues for another 200,000 miles. The odds are very slim, but anything is possible. Best of luck with whatever you decide!

I can understand the CTS Coupe being a car of your dreams. It was mine also and I found one that was a Certified Pre-Owned with 30,000 miles on it in 2015. The car was a one owner and showroom condition. I purchased the car for a hefty price and now in 2018 it still only has 57,000 miles on it. The initial respondent on here was correct about the Cadillacs. They are beautiful on the outside and typical GM on the underneath. I've had all the center stack electronics replaced, been locked in and out of the car and had to crawl out of the trunk. The battery had to replaced and was $300 and located in the trunk! The other day, the water pump failed---at 57,000 miles and nearly destroyed the engine. Of course it was not under warranty and cost $900 to replace. Now, there is a creaking noise in the front end and steering and have been told the struts need changing at a cost of $2800. Have you ever heard the saying "Beauty is skin deep"? Thats what a Cadillac is. Underneath they are trouble and will cost a fortune to keep on the road. I love the look of my car, but I drive my 1997 Honda with 200,000 miles more than the Cadillac now. I would drive the Honda cross country with that mileage, but fear driving the Cadillac without a full set of tools in the trunk and the dealer service center on speed dial. Sorry to burst your bubble about the car, but it is a money pit. Mine is the 3.6 V6 Premium and I can't imagine what the V Series coupe is like to keep up!!!

Well im not sure about th cts. Im looking at a 2011 to buy also.I have owned a 1994 seville sls for 23 years. VERY dependable car. It just turned 160,000 miles ( dont drive every day ). But it has never been a problem car. No rust, and I live in ohio. Garage kept . I have put an Alternator on , very easy job to to your self. A water pump. Did it my self, very easy. And a radiator ,did my self fairly easy . And of course brake pads every 5 years or so. Still has original exhuast , brake calipers , rotors ,rear air ride suspension , still works. Im not kidding . But I did replace front electric rss struts with regular strut conversion kit . Thats why im looking at ONLY Cadillacs for my next car. P.S . Hoping my luck holds out on my head gaskets , lol .
