Techron is the best and yes you can use it. 87 octane gas is what I would use.

There is a knocking sound in my engine just slightly (you can hear it) ever since I used 87 regular gas in my fuel flex 2011. Would the gas cause this to happen? Ive been told from a handful of people that regular 87 is fine and do not use the corn syrup 85E. What else would this be?
Since I cannot hear the noise I really cannot say what is causing it. Try a higher octane gas and if the noise goes away it is pinging which is not a big deal but if it pings all the time on 87 I would try 89 octane to see if that solves the problem. You will find that gas instead of the 85% booze will give you much better fuel economy.
