Should I buy a car with 250,000 miles on it?

Asked by Haileyb_mtg Mar 16, 2019 at 01:07 AM about the 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I have an opportunity to buy a 2011 Mitsubishi
Endeavor for $1,400. The car has 250,000+ miles
on it. The current owner says the last owner was a
traveling salesman and put a lot of highway miles
on the car. She says they hasn’t had any problems
with it on the last 2 years, and her and the previous
owner changed the oil every 2,000 miles and took
good care of it. Is it worth buying? I’m worried
bout it having so many miles on it.

(Just my opinion) 1400 for a car and worst case scenario, you rebuild or replace the engine, it's not as much money as buying a new car. But on the other end of that, I think that's overselling it by saying the oil's changed every 2000 miles.

Bought a 2004 endeavor limited at 238,000 miles. $600!! Quit the steal!! Mostly long-distance highway miles, and I haven't had anything wrong in the past 2 years. Now it has 252,000 miles on it and I keep the oil changed every 3,000 miles. Great vehicle. Buy it!
