During startup, it is common to see multiple dash indicators flash as the system is "booting" up. Once idling, if you don't see any warnings, you should be good to go. When in doubt, get a diagnostic scan done on the vehicle. It has a powerful diagnostic computer in it that can provide valuable and accurate information.

Get to an auto parts store and have it scanned ASAP. Check your fluids first! Oil, coolant, etc. A vehicle this new shouldn't be having an internal issue.

don't go to a regular auto shop for a scan. Hit up only a vw/Audi specilist shop equiped with rosstech software. It is the only diagnostic software that can properly diagnose your VW since obd's only get the top data.

Admittedly, Vagcom or Rosstech tools provide the most thorough analysis, but a local auto parts store that's close by can make an initial scan and might help the owner avoid a costly tow to the dealership or catastrophic damage to the engine from a longer drive.

Well i think its safe to run the engine if they have gone this far with it. The usual cause for this is the number 2 cylinder often gets damaged or the valve gets damaged, most often occurrence tho is just a fault in the coil pack which causes the engine light to come on. If your truck is not idling smoothly this is your likely suspect of the engine light. I have seen oh to often these tiguns up for the same issues on this forums to know what the most comman causes of problems for them is. you may have just got lucky and caught a serious issue before it got worse.
